Today Charlotte and I went together on Friday. We arrived and immediately received a call from one of the mission workers telling us to go to the Government Building in Admiralty to the Legal Aid Department. We walked through Central to the building up several flights of stairs, using our meager Cantonese to navigate and find our way. After finally locating the building, we discovered we were picking up 138 closed case files for the mission. We split it into two boxes then made the return trek. It was a very hot day, which exacerbated our discomfort heaving the two boxes. Upon returning, we began encoding more case files. I think this session had value because it reinforced the idea that one should help out in the way that is most helpful to the cause (not necessary the most conventionally "rewarding"), and in the cases of such necessary manual labor, someone has to do the job, and Charlotte and I are two able-bodied young people who are capable of the job.
